Cippo with Giro d’Italia

We arrived from Rome having had a week of sightseeing for two weeks of cycling in the Riccione area.
All the rides from the Hotel Dory, best bike hotel in Riccione, have been excellent, with very good and knowledgeable guides.

All staff have been most helpfull and friendly. Rides have had different facets and a good mix of terain. The two most memorable for me were the ride to San Marino, where we also saw the Mille Miglia, a tour of 1000 miles by vintage cars on open roads, a most unexpected pleasure.
The second memorable ride was out to see the stage of the Giro d’Italia. The ride out was great, finishing with a climb to the lower part of the Cippo. At a good viewing point the Hotel had set up a large area where hotel riders were welcomed, when they arrived, by a well prepared barbeque, plenty of good food, wine and, of course, water! The event also catered for non cycling partners. We then sat back to await the arrival of the peleton with great anticipation. The view point was ideal at the foot of the climb. In all a great holiday and cycling experience and well recommended.
